David Pope

After graduating from Appalachian State University in 1983, David Pope began his appraisal career with John McCracken & Associates. While there, David was able to gain experience in appraising many different property types, including single-family residences, multi-family properties, office, industrial, etc. Further, he spent several years focused on eminent domain appraisals.
In 2002, David joined Hotel and Club Associates, Inc., a firm specializing in hotel, golf, and resort appraisals and feasibility studies. David acquired the firm in 2008 from its founder, Andy Hinds, and manages the day-to-day operations. He now focuses on appraisals and consulting assignments for hotel, golf, and resort properties throughout the United States. Hotel and Club Associates, Inc. is based Greensboro, NC with satellite offices in Asheville, NC and New Orleans, LA. There is also an affiliated office in Norfolk, VA.
David holds the MAI (Member of the Appraisal Institute) and SRA (Senior Residential Appraiser) designations from the Appraisal Institute and the SGA designation from the Society of Golf Appraisers. David has served on committees and held various offices with the Appraisal Institute. Most recently, he was President of the NC Chapter of the Appraisal Institute (2012).

HOTEL APPRAISAL EXPERIENCE:
Hotel appraisals and market studies completed across the country and the U.S Virgin Islands for various lending institutions, developers, and property owners. Markets include resort areas, urban markets, and various secondary markets with full service resort hotels, limited, select and full service properties, and small independent hotels.
GOLF COURSE APPRAISAL EXPERIENCE:
Public daily fee, semi-private, and private country clubs in resort and non-resort settings appraised in various states. Member of the Society of Golf Appraisers, a group of MAI designated appraisers from across the U.S. that specialize in the appraisal of golf properties.
RESORT RESIDENTIAL APPRAISAL EXPERIENCE:
Appraisals and market studies of residential developments in golf and non-golf communities including mountain, lake properties, and typical suburban locations.
